There has been a lot of concern, anxiety and questions about coronavirus COVID-19 in the diabetes community and lots of our organizations have responded quickly to these questions so I thought I would collate some of them.

Last Friday evening, Noel from Dublin who has lived with type 1 diabetes for nineteen years shared a post in our closed diabetes support group about his recent experience of completing a structured education course called DAFNE, stating that his diabetes management was the best it has ever been since completing the course over a week ago. He also included a graph of his stable blood glucose levels for the previous 24 hours.

It’s a nice change to have election candidates coming to me and I am eager to take advantage of it to highlight to our election candidates the lack of resources in current HSE diabetes services and once in government, what we expect them to do about it.
