What is Thriveabetes?
Thriveabetes is a conference for people living with type 1 diabetes and aims to bring people with diabetes together to share experiences living with this lifelong chronic condition so that no person with diabetes feels alone!
The conference will include many speakers living with diabetes, opportunities to meet others and find out about the latest technology in diabetes. It is being organised by people with type 1 diabetes.
The conference was created by two people living with type 1 diabetes, Gráinne Flynn and Christine Meehan from Clare. Gráinne Flynn was diagnosed with diabetes at age 20, almost 30 years ago. Gráinne met Christine at the first Clare Diabetes Support Group meeting, where they just “clicked”. Christine was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in her 30s in 2006. This is the sixth conference organised since its creation in 2015.
Thriveabetes includes an exhibition with many companies that provide diabetes devices to the community. Advanced registration is required to attend.
