How We Zoom - Breakout!
In big online meetings, we will use a Zoom feature called “Breakout Rooms”. To read more about how to use this feature on Zoom’s website, please read this page!
Session Schedule
A separate Zoom meeting will contain the Breakout Sessions and Lunch Chat:

Meeting ID: 892 7324 4967 / Passcode: 626902
The exhibitor breakout sessions will be limited to 15 minutes, followed by lunch where all exhibitors will be available in separate breakout sessions. After lunch, you will return to your original Webinar link.
You will be randomly assigned to a breakout room, but given time to change to a room of your choosing.

Before Thriveabetes
Make sure you are updated with the latest version of Zoom. Having this will allow you to choose your own breakout room!
Before Thriveabetes, you may see an e-mail asking you for a “starting breakout room” for each breakout session. Please respond to this request as it will help us get you to the right place. Don’t worry - you will be able to move between breakout rooms - this is just where you’ll start!
During Thriveabetes
Note that these instructions are written on Windows, the specific instructions for Mac, iPhone, Android, etc can be found on the Zoom website!
When we start a Breakout session, you should see an invitation to join a room (in this example the room is called “Beta”):
Once you Join the breakout room, you can leave with the “Leave Room” button, but be sure to then click the “Leave Breakout Room” button, as the “Leave Meeting” is like walking out of the building, and you’ll probably want to re-join Thriveabetes!
If you have an up-to-date Zoom client, you can change to a different Breakout Room by clicking on the “Breakout Rooms” button (you will otherwise have to use the Chat or Ask for Help and wait for a Thriveabetes volunteer to help you):
This will bring up a list of the Breakout Rooms that are currently open, and you can just click the blue “Join” link for the Breakout Room you’d like to join:
Problems
Please read the below for solutions to common problems, but we will have people in the Main Meeting room that are monitoring the meeting Chat, so if you can find the “Chat” or “Ask for Help” buttons, one of the Thriveabetes volunteers will do their best to get you sorted out!
You will note that many of these problems can be avoided by using the latest Zoom client, which is why we suggested updating to the latest version of Zoom!
Waiting to Be Assigned
Q: “Breakout Rooms seem to have started, but I have a message telling me to wait to be assigned”:
A: If you do not have the latest Zoom client, you may not have the option to choose your own breakout room. In this case, use the Chat function and let the Thriveabetes volunteer know what room you’d like to be assigned to.
I cannot change to a different Breakout Room
Q: “I am assigned to a Breakout Room that I don’t want to be in, but I can’t seem to figure out how to choose another room!”
A: If you do not have the latest Zoom client, you may not have the option to choose your own breakout room. In this case, use the Chat function and let the Thriveabetes volunteer know what room you’d like to be assigned to.
