Interview with Theo & Philip

Welcome to another Thriveabetes interview. Today I'm with Philip Short and his 15 year old (16 in September) son, Theo.

Theo was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2013 when he was 7 years old. In part 1 of this interview both Theo and Philip share the diagnosis background. Theo talks about making the transition from insulin pens to a pump and also a CGM Continuous Glucose Monitor and the difference this made in being able to manage his diabetes. He also talks about going back to school and how the family has navigated this in the past.

In part 2, we talked about different experiences with clinic appointments, accessing emotional support and education. Theo also talks about doing diabetes his own way and leaves us with a very insightful piece of advice.
