We’re back! Thriveabetes 2023 takes place on Saturday, 6th May, in The Crowne Plaza, Blanchardstown, Dublin. More details will follow soon. Watch this space!

What Is Thriveabetes?

Thriveabetes is a conference for people living with type 1 diabetes and aims to bring people with diabetes together to share experiences living with this lifelong chronic condition so that no person with diabetes feels alone!

The conference will include many speakers living with diabetes, opportunities to meet others, and find out about the latest technology in diabetes, and is being organised by Thriveabetes, an organisation run by people with type 1 diabetes.

The conference was created by two people living with type 1 diabetes, Gráinne Flynn and Christine Meehan from Clare. Gráinne Flynn was diagnosed with diabetes at age 20, almost 30 years ago.

Gráinne met Christine at the first Clare Diabetes Support Group meeting, where they just “clicked”. Christine was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in her 30s in 2006. This is the fourth conference organised since its creation in 2015.

There are specific programmes for each group attending.

Thriveabetes includes an exhibition with many companies that provide diabetes devices to the community. Advanced registration is required to attend.
